Living on the Big Island the last 8 years, Hawaiian Style Cafe hands down been my all-time favorite breakfast/lunch place. I remember when they opened at 7a.m. and closed when the food ran out. Locals, Tourist & Celebrities all said you have to eat at Hawaiian Style Cafe. The hours have changed and they open until 1:30 p.m. on the weekdays & Saturday and 12 Noon on Sunday. The pancakes were that big, yes the size of the plate (No Photo Shop here) and on the menu my favorites were the Kalua Hash with the Fried Rice & the Tita Mok (A version of the Loco Moco-topped with Chicken Cutlet, Spam, Hamburger patty, 2 eggs on a bed of rice and gravy all over. For myself had to make one last stop until sometime down the road visiting the Big Island again.
Today it was their on the board special, The Smoke Meat Omelette $10.95 and they don't cheat on the smoke meat.
If you're gonna visit the Big Island, this is a must stop for grindz. The Aunties that work there as servers been there for a long time and are real nice. Located in Waimea about 15-20 mins. from the Kohala Coast resorts and worth the drive up from either Hilo or Kona.
Come hungry cause the portions are pretty big. Just a heads up, its Cash Only and they do have an ATM machine inside if you forget that I warned yah.
