Waipio Valley is 20 minutes (7.6 miles) from Honokaa Town on the Hamakua Coast off of Hwy 19 onto the town and continuing the drive on Honokaa-Waipio Rd.

The valley is only accessible by 4 wheel drive vehicles, has a black sand beach, several breathtaking water falls and a hiking trail to the next ridge.
